No legal entity registered. The operator of this tool has not yet registered a legal entity or appointed a data controller for the purposes of data protection law. The operator must supply their legal identity, address, and jurisdiction before this policy is binding. Until then, this document states the intended data practices in good faith.

What data is collected

When you submit a URL for diagnosis, that URL is sent to the Charsetlint API endpoint running on Cloudflare Workers. The API fetches the URL you provided, inspects the response, and returns the diagnostic result. The following data passes through the system:

The URL you submit
The HTTP response headers (specifically the Content-Type header)
The first 4096 bytes of the response body

Data retention

No data is stored server-side. Each diagnosis is ephemeral: the URL, the fetched content, and the diagnostic result exist only in memory for the duration of the request. No database, cache, or log retains any record of submitted URLs or their results. The diagnostic output displayed in your browser is held in local memory only and disappears when you close or reload the page.

Cloudflare Workers

This tool runs on Cloudflare's global network. Cloudflare processes requests through its edge infrastructure in accordance with Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, User-Agent, request timing) passes through Cloudflare's network as part of normal operation. No additional logging or tracking is configured on the Worker itself.

No tracking, no cookies

This site does not set cookies, use analytics, embed third-party scripts, or employ any tracking mechanism. No personal data is collected, processed, or shared.
